My Nuwave plastic dome also cracked from the top to the bottom, and the plastic had lots of stain that cannot be remove. It appeared that Nuwave should not use plastic to build this dome.

Everyone should take this notice seriously. I am still using the cracked dome but I need to find a new dome that is not a platic dome, might be a glass dome so that it is more reliable.

Nuwave should not sell this kind of plastic dome to US Consumers. They need to invest to develop a new kind of dome with the materials that is durable and cannot be cracked like the current one.

Monetary Loss: $30.

I was washing my dome as I do every other day as I Usenet often...and I went to dry it and there's this crack in it...I'm so disappointed...I didn't know whether to keep using the oven.

I was really happy with this product. that is until ......

the first crack and I thought someone in my house broke it . so after telling at every one. and the no touch my nuwave rule . I noticed more cracks and then I looked for a replacement dome .

And that cost as much as a new over. nuwave should not sell this product at such a high cost for cheap parts .and I wouldn't tell anyone else to get one at this point .because by the time you finish using foil duct tape you can't even see inside it .and it looks like *** on your counter.

I've had not 1 but 2 domes crack on me, bought a whole new nu wave only to hve it crack on both sides top-to-bottom, the dome itself sells for $50+ dollars on Ebay doesn't seem fair after only having had the new one a few months :-(

I brought two nu wave ovens and both domes have cracked in one year. I feel like I have wasted my money. Now, I read everybody is having the same problem.

Hello, my name is Jeremy. I am the Social Media Coordinator for Hearthware, the makers of the NuWave PIC.

Iโ€™m terribly sorry to hear about your broken dome. I can assure you that we use plastic domes out of concern for our customersโ€™ safety, since glass domes pose much greater safety risks. The plastic dome holds two major advantages over the glass basins that other ovens use. The plastic dome is much lighter in weight than the glass basin.

Some halogen ovens can weigh up to 21 pounds while the NuWave Oven only weighs approximately 9 pounds in total. This makes the NuWave Oven much more portable than halogen ovens. Also, the plastic dome does not get hot like the glass basins do. Manufacturers of halogen ovens even warn their customers not to touch the glass surface during the cooking process in order to avoid potential burns.

There is no need to worry about burning oneself on the NuWave Oven dome during cooking since all of the heat generated in the oven stays in the oven.

We do guarantee our domes for 1 year, so feel free to send an email with your order information to facebook@***.com. I will have our customer service managers check and see if your dome is covered under the manufacturerโ€™s warranty and will take the necessary steps to help you get a replacement dome.

I was under the impression that anyone who bought the Nuwave oven would get a new dome if it was cracked within ONE year. My dome did crack and I contacted a

representative, and still did not get the new dome. I had to put heat tape around it

and over the cracks. It doesn't look very attractive with heat tape all over it. That

is the only way I can hold it together !! This is not a good grade of plastic to be

using with such intense heat, and I am not happy at all...

Hey, Nu-Wave representative.... try touching the plastic dome after about one hour of cooking.

Then get the burn ointment. You could use glass very easily, the slight weight difference would not matter.

I am on my third dome, thanks to rotten engineering on your part. The oven works well, but the dirty, cracked dome has to go.

Hi,

We had a glass Nuwave before we really like it, in my own opinion glass is better than plastic, it's our third Nuwave right now we have the plastic one and it's cracked but still using it. Well, the glass is a little bit heavy but no problem in cleaning. Hopefully they will back on glass.
