I purchased the Nu Wave Pro 1800 watt cook top from HSN. The cooktop arrived and worked well the first two times I used it.

Super Bowl Sunday I tried to do Buffalo Wings in it, using a cast iron dutch oven. The cooktop struggled to warm the oil to 350 degrees, in fact it never made that heat at all. It could be that the size of the dutch oven was too much. Anyway, that every evening a coffee mug fell out of my kitchen shelf directly onto the cooktop, cracking it and making it unsafe to use.

I called NuWave to confess my stupidity and ask about a repair. Even though I had registered it on-line, they could not find me. When I told them I had purchased it on HSN, NU Wave adopted a whole other attitude. Three days later, after I provided them with photos of the crack, my address and phone number and two days of silence I was advised that the coooktop was not covered under my warranty and could not be repaired.

I was fully aware that it was my faulty and the warranty did not cover stupidity, I just wanted it repaired and they could have told me the first time I spoke to them. Bottom line - the cooktop works fine if you just need an additional burner than your stove has, but if you should need customer service from Nu Wave -- forget it!
